Midwifery Unit Standards: A New Benchmark for Quality Maternity Care in Europe, Now Available in Greek

MUNET, in collaboration with the European Midwives Association (EMA), has published the Midwifery Unit Standards, a quality assurance framework now available in multiple languages, now including  Greek. Endorsed by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) and MNSI (Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigations), these Standards set a new benchmark for consistent, high-quality maternity care through a holistic bio-psycho-social model. Designed for self-assessment, they empower midwifery units to elevate quality of midwifery care, enhance resource planning, and provide compassionate, standardised and personalised support for mothers, birthing people and families across Europe. The Greek version of the Standards have been translated and adapted, per MUNET’s requirements, by the Hellenic British Midwifery Association and are now available here https://www.midwiferyunitnetwork.org/mu-standards/  HBMA has also translated the MUSA  (Midwifery Unit Self-Assessment) toolkit, a structured framework aimed at guiding quality and continuous improvement of the midwifery unit.
